Aaron
Aaron was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia on 25th April 2003. After progressing rapidly to Blast Crisis he under went radiotherapy, chemotherapy and eventually a full Bone Marrow Transplant. He had quite a difficult time and suffered badly with Graft Versus Host Disease (a reaction to the donor cells)He spent approximately 9 months in hospital following his transplant.I am happy to report that he has been in remission for some time now and lives the life of any normal 19 year old. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital, in particular Ward 15, Intensive Care Unit, HDU, dieticians and of course his wonderful Consultant Sarah Lawson
